Headache case which responds to the alendronate treatment in Paget's disease.

Paget�s disease of bone is a chronic, focal skeletal disease which is characterized with bone pain and deformity, pathological fractures and neurological symptoms such as headache, hearing loss and tinnitus, etc. The frequency of the the disease increases in further ages. Viral and genetical factors play role in the etiology.. In the majority of cases are asymptomatic. It is often diagnosed with an incidental finding on radiography or an unexpected high serum alkaline phosphatase level. Bone fractures or neurological complications can negatively affect the quality of life. Early diagnosis and treatment is very because of these reasons. Bisphosphonates are the most frequently used medication in the treatment.
We present a case, who seeked medical help because of headache and diagnosed as Paget�s disease. Neurological complications, the diagnosis and treatment of Paget�s disease were reviewed in the literature.

Paget hastal�� kemik a�r�s�, deformitesi, patolojik k�r�klar, n�rolojik semptomlarla (ba�a�r�s�, i�itme kayb�, tinnitus vb.) karakterize kronik, fokal bir iskelet hastal��d�r.
�leri ya� grubunda s�k g�r�l�r. Etyolojisinde viral ve genetik fakt�rler rol oynar. Hastalar�n �o�u asemptomatiktir. Tan� s�kl�kla radyografi �ekilirken rastlant�sal bir bulgu olarak veya beklenmeyen serum alkalen fosfataz y�ksekli�i ile konur. Geli�ebilecek kemik deformiteleri ve n�rolojik komplikasyonlar nedeniyle ya�am kalitesi olumsuz etkilenir. Bu nedenle erken tan� ve tedavi �nem ta��r. Tedavide en s�k kullan�lan ila�lar bifosfanatlard�r.
Burada ba�a�r�s� yak�nmas� ile ba�vuran ve Paget hastal�� tan�s� alan bir olgu sunulmu�tur. Paget hastal��n�n tan� ve tedavisi, n�rolojik komplikasyonlar� literat�r ��nda g�zden ge�irilmi�tir.
